Jefferson Lab is seeking a creative Graphic Design student to join our team as the newest Graphic Design Intern.

Do you have a passion for graphic design and are excited by being part of a team dedicated to furthering the mission of scientific research? If so, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will support our mission by producing informative, visually appealing content for our scientists and lab community via social media, internal memos and print materials. We’re looking for design students who have the ability to produce innovative, forward-thinking design while respecting the Jefferson Lab standards.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist Graphic Designers with design of print and digital collateral.
  • Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadlines.
  • Create social media design content.
  • Receive feedback from team members and make necessary changes.
  • Support the Communications team as needed.

Position Requirements

Qualifications We Require:


Full-time college student majoring in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or Animation with a GPA of 2.5 or better


Candidate must be a US citizen

Must be available to work a 18-20 hours per week during school sessions and 40 hours per week between school sessions (ex: spring break, summer break, and winter break)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe CC, including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color and other fundamental design principles for digital and print content.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Photography, animation, video editing or illustration skills are a plus.
  • An exciting portfolio of work.
