What your job will be like:

The Business IT Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing the strategy, planning, and execution of projects under the Management Information Systems group at Jefferson Lab. The Business IT Portfolio Manager will be responsible for understanding customer requirements from all operational departments at the Lab and will work with IT and Lab leadership to develop a strategy and long-term plan to modernize the Lab's IT business software.

In this role you will:

  • Governance/Strategic Planning: Work with the MIS Manager and team to develop and implement a strategy to modernize the business IT environment, in line with overall Lab goals and strategic objectives.
  • Request Intake: Develop and implement processes in ServiceNow to manage intake of new projects, including evaluation and prioritization through IT Governance.
  • Project Management: Using agile processes, develop detailed project requirements, work with customers to evaluate potential solutions, and manage projects through successful execution.
  • Business Intelligence: Build reporting tools and frameworks for a successful business intelligence strategy at the Lab and develop reporting capabilities within the divisions, to include training and documentation for reporting tools. Work with customers to identify reporting needs, prioritize and build reports as team resources permit.

Qualifications We Require:
Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field required.

Experience:

  • 10 years relevant experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in IT Portfolio management.
  • Experience with major IT system implementation projects resulting in relevant technical foundation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Detail and results oriented, with ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and demonstrated initiative beyond assigned scope.
